Formed in 1987 in Barking, Essex,The Barking Dog Theatre Company produces shows specifically
written and designed for children (And their families)
.

Over the last thirty years we have produced dozens of shows which we have performed to thousands
of children and families. So far we have toured to schools and theatres in mainly in the South of
England but also in Wales, Ireland, Scotland and Russia.

Venues include;- Colchester Arts Centre, The Jersey Opera House Studio, The Marketplace Theatre
Studio, Armagh, and The Dugdale Centre, Enfield, London.

We bring everything we need to put on a great show;- two talented actors, a small set, lovely

c
ostumes, puppets and sometimes a musical instrument or two.

Our show are entertaining, exciting, informative and educational. Our shows are suitable for end of
term, book week or to enliven a particular project.

Each year we produce
four new shows for the UK and Ireland;-

One for the under sixes featuring "Eddy The Teddy",

A book related show for 4 - 9 year olds

A show for 7 - 11 year olds, history based.

A pantomime, with two versions, one specially designed for under sixes and a more general version
for children up to the age of 11.

(We produce special shows for English learners,
contact us about those)

All our shows last for approximately 45 minutes and are performed by two actors. One actor generally
plays the main character while the other actor plays everyone he/she meets during our story.

We usually use puppets, mime and music. We always use lots of audience participation with some
children coming up on stage to help and the whole audience being involved too.

We bring all the costumes and simple scenery all you need to provide is the audience!
