| Aladdin & His Smelly Lamp by Mike Brooks |
| Suitable for children of all ages |
Following the sucess, last year, of "Dick Whittington & His Scaredy Cat" which followed in the footsteps of our pantos "Jack & The Greedy Giant" in 2005 and "Red Riding Hood & The Silly Wolf" in 2004, we bring you another well known tale adapted for schools and theatres. Set in China we see how Aladdin goes from rags to riches when he gets the magic lamp from the evil sorcerer Abanazar. With his new wealth he marries Princess Jasmine. She, however, knows nothing of the power of the lamp and so she swapps the smelly old lamp for a new one offered by Abanazar. It won't be easy for Aladdin to make sure it all ends happily ever after... With lots of songs and action and audience participation all the children can join in with the time-honoured pantomime traditions. The actors can perform two different versions of this show, One for the nursery age range (3 - 6) and another more general version. "You did particulaly well engaging/controling the children as this was the last day of term and the children were both tired and exited" Dick Whittington & His Scaredy Cat - Crowfoot Community Primary School |
