Hiraeth (Trad. arr Here Be Dragons)
The word "Hiraeth" doesn't have a direct translation. It means "longing" but much more so. It's the sort of longing to be home or with someone which is so strong it makes you ill and stops you sleeping. The lyrics of the song probably explain it better than I can.

Dwedwch fawrion o wybodaeth
Tell me oh wise ones
O ba beth a gwnaethpwyd hiraeth
Of what stuff is hiraeth made?
A pha ddefnydd a roedd ynddo
And what substance is put into it
Na ddarfyddo wrth ei wisgo ?
That never fades when wearing it

Derfydd aur a derfydd arian
Gold fades and silver fades
Derfydd melfed derfydd sidan
Velvet fades silk fades
Derfydd pob dilledyn helaeth
Everything sort of clothing fades
Eto er hyn ni dderfydd hiraeth
But again hiraeth doesn't fade

Hiraeth mawr a hiraeth creulon
Big Hiraeth cruel hiraeth
Hiraeth sydd yn torri 'nghalon

Hiraeth tears my heart
Pan fwyf dryma'r nos yn cysgu
When I'm sleeping heavily at night
Fe ddaw hiraeth ac a'm deffry
Hiraeth comes and wakes me

Hiraeth hiraeth cilia cilia
Hiraeth hiraeth away away
Paid a phwyso mor drwm arna'
Don't weigh so heavily on me
Nesa dipyn at y erchwyn
Go a little nearer to the edge
Gad i mi gael cysgu gronyn

Let me have a little bit of sleep
